The middle of this year started to seem like it was slowing down. There was a bit of a lull and I spent some very satisfying days in the sunshine, the grass, the water. I was still painting but it felt relaxed and grounding. It was a much needed time of refresh.
Then, I got an email, saying a spot had opened up on the wait list of a show I’ve been trying to be part of for many years now. There is no feeling like being surrounded by other creatives and people who love to celebrate art! It’s rejuvenating to say the least.
This news gave me a whole new burst of energy. It felt like I woke up from a pleasant dream and was eager to get to work. For this painting I wanted to talk about abundance- of energy, of love, of the passion of living life. I imagined how exciting it would be as a bird to fly towards a table brimming with fruit and a refreshing pitcher over twice my size! That’s how I feel right now. There’s so many beautiful things coming my way that I feel like a guest invited to a feast.

Parakeets refer to affection, expansion, and trust. They are a symbol of loyalty and close bonds.
