It can be hard to know where to start when beginning a new painting. It's very exciting and the possibilities are endless! This makes it easy to get so distracted by the planning process that you put off painting
I wanted to jump right in and not overthink my day, so I asked my sister to send me some photos of her dog's feet and I got painting straight away.
Studies can be really wonderful for getting all that creative stuff going, like a warm-up.
As much as I'm pushing myself to paint bigger, I still love working small. I like how fresh they feel and the sense of accomplishment I can get over 30 minutes, instead of the days or weeks the larger ones take.
I think I'll make this more of a practice- do a study before starting a new big painting. It might just give me that energy boost I'll need for the new project!
