There is something so uplifting, purifying, and refreshing about citrus! Happiness, clarity, and rejuvenation are more attributes that come to mind.
My fruit paintings all start with the same bright feeling. It's exciting and I get a shot of pure inspiration. I started this painting a few years ago and it got set aside. This was something that happened to me a lot. I'd start a painting then get stuck and not know how to continue or where to go next.
But now, with new skills and abilities, I'm learning how to push through the sticky parts of creativity! I've been working through a stack of unfinished paintings and it feels like unblocking a path I used to travel but was long forgotten. There have been many memories of paintings I abandoned then came back to.
Lemons, oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, blood orange, and limes are all tumbling around on here.
Also I kind of like it sideways better but I'll wire it both ways so people can hang it however they want!
